clinicaltrials.gov - MSCs in COVID-19 ARDS

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but the trial is now on clinicaltrials.gov. I thought a dedicated thread on it is worthwhile as it gives us a reference for discussing inclusion criteria and endpoints.

It's interesting that the trial is limited to people that require mechanical ventilator support ...

Inclusion Criteria

• 18 years or older
• Patient has coronavirus disease COVID-19 confirmed by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay or other diagnostic test
• Patient requiring mechanical ventilatory support with moderate to severe ARDS as determined by the following criteria (adapted from the Berlin criteria)

You would think there would be benefit in treating patients with mild to moderate ARDS that don't yet require ventilator support ... i.e. can the probability that patients need to go onto ventilators in the first place be reduced ...?
