Well a pretty big difference with Clinuvel and the Theranos name you dropped (because someone 'in the comments' mentioned Theranos) is that Theranos never released peer reviewed data and was ultimately proved ineffective. Clinuvel has plenty of studies supporting it's effectiveness and we all saw a couple of days ago how effective afamelanotide was in returning pigmentation for a long suffering Vitiligo patient. That tanning can be for a disease like Vitiligo, EPP or one day for cosmetic use but there is no denying it works and it's safe. The CUV competition on the other hand - how many peer reviewed studies have they ever released? I note MT has to run to another Phase 3 trial for EPP, and MT had plenty of adverse events in their trials of an oral drug, so now they are mucking around with dosages.
