Clinuvel Takeover

Time for a thread on Clinuvel takeover discussions, someone suggested this during the week. The most shorted Biotech on the ASX. Constant shorting and share price manipulation must have a reason, is a takeover the reason? Average analyst share price targets 100% higher than current price mainly just for EPP. Certainly wouldn't be the first time this type of activity has occurred and it would really raise (more) questions over Australian Corporate Law regulation if fake Sell liquidity that is clearly being used to control the share price was working hand in hand to facilitate a cheaper takeover. Clinuvel is in the strongest position they have ever been in, they keep growing profits and EPS, they have a monopoly and are advancing their pipeline with a Phase 3 to complete mid next year on blockbuster Vitiligo. There is also an Ozempic/Botox possibility with a real tanning, protective cosmetic. So the consistent selling down of any good news, any positive sentiment and in the face of the best financially performing Biotech on the ASX anywhere near this size - is Clinuvel to be a takeover target. Their very low P/E means just about any company could acquire them for a 200+% premium and immediately improve their own financial performance and situation while also gaining a monopoly with an FDA approved drug and an explosive pipeline.

So let's hear what PW said at the AGM about exactly this issue: (1hr 40min mark - I love the way the questioner mentions 'suppressed prices' - everyone knows what is going on). Form your own conclusions, my opinion is some figures may have already been thrown their way even if informally.

Question: Is Clinuvel a takeover target at these suppressed prices?

PW: The price and the cash make you vulnerable. It's not easy to takeover a company in Australia on a hostile basis. But as a public company whoever is willing to bid for it, and the bid is reasonable, then we will take it to shareholders. It would, it saddens me if we just before the Vitiligo markets __ (a word I couldn't understand) comes to fruition if we had to sell out. Yes it's possible.
