"The circus of politics" ... The abusive sledging, unsubstantiated allegations, vitriolic grandstanding, venting one's spleen in savage personal attacks has been a sad hallmark of the recent political landscape and it is attributable to politicians on both sides of the political spectrum BUT it is done within the confines of Coward' s Castle during parliamentary Question Time when the "culprits" can sledge away knowing they are immune from any lawsuit to take them to task.

Newman showed his political stupidity by making unsubstantiated allegations in public. True, he picked a big target but it has all backfired. Love him or hate him Clive has every right to use the law to protect his reputation ... He has the means to pursue it and will do so. Newman is the greater fool. People, no matter who they are, should not be public ally slandered. They can be fairly criticises if there is clear proof or evidence and in that case legal action will be nullified. Clive is within his legal rights.
