Clive is a first class clown in the circus of politics. Imagine Abbott or Gillard trying to sue everyone that made or makes unsubstantiated statements against them.
Clive has gotten very used to people around him being 'yes men'. He is now an unprotected and legitimate target and he better get used to it because he doesn't have the money to sue everyone that is going to have a go at him.
