Remembered how to post pics I think. So a few variations on insects ( wasps ). First one is taken with a 180mm Macro lens that stops at 1:1 magnification. This shot was taken around half of that it shows how a Potter Wasp can exploit the surface tension of water to support its weight yet can still pick up water while doing this.
Next one is taken with MP-E65mm lens at about 2X lifesize, a single frame of some type of native wasp or bee
Last one is taken using image stacking techniques at about 3X magnification. This insect is obviously dead while I took the 35 frames that made up this image using a little precisely moving rail that I made. I dont kill insects just to take their pics, but sometimes I find one dead or with wasps they nest in a place that is a bit of a threat around our home.
