I don't think that we can (nor should we try) push the emotional side of trading into the background as if it doesn't exist.
I sometimes make the mistake of becoming too emotionally attached to a stock. I was born in Africa and love Botswana, so want DML to do well for many reasons.
Selling to preserve cash at a loss, I feel takes a lot of guts. There is always the nagging doubt that you are wrong and letting others down by making a contribution to pushing the price lower (even it it's a small contribution).
An aspect that keeps me going is the thought that if I get this one terribly wrong, there will always be other opportunities.
