After a rout on the Dow last night (-200+ points), current futures surprisingly show +8. Normally, at this time after such a huge drop the futures would still be showing ~ -70 to -80ish.
Volume was light in NY last night because of traders having exited for the 4th July break (and they reckon we're the land of the long weekend lol).
Hang Seng currently down only .44%, Nikkei -1.28% and ASX -50.7 points. Gold up $4.20 from NY close to US933.10/oz.
No-one appears to have panicked by those numbers and perhaps after an initial knee-jerk reaction at the resumption of play on Monday, we could see a consolidation before the Dow starts to edge higher.
Just my musings for anyone interested. I prolly need to get out more.
