Natural gas fired microturbines are widely used around the world in remote areas where small footprint, low maintenance, green (relatively), quite energy generation is required. Surely, they have to be considered against noisy, polluting, smoke and smell generating, high-maintenance diesel generators highly undesirable for such an environment. Not to mention politically incorrect diesel fuel. Capstone Turbine comes to mind.
