Thanks Robbb, coming from you that means a lot. I will try a similar approach excluding the out of hours data and see how it compares.

The main reason I included the out of hours data was to take into account the unfolding of the day's events, news and trends on the various overseas markets as the next day's market open approaches. While I'm certainly interested in doing better in the DJIA cup, if it gives 4 out of 5 results consistently I wont be using it just for my cup tips :-)

I'd noted your previous comments re the trend on Fridays, and tipped "down" on Friday despite seeing the same thing. I hadnt thought about the "feel good" factor, possibly underwritten by the US govt? - now that is a good conspiracy theory!

Will be eagerly watching what happens around the 21st...
