according to the slides last year on North Akkar
J-50 if similar to the nearest North Akkar wells was supposed to have a ~120m gross oil column (top of first reservoir to bottom of last reservoir) that was completely above the OWC of North Akkar. Then inside that gross package some will be not reservoir and some will be reservoir not porous enough to flow and finally some will be reservoir that contributes to the oil flow. Squinting at the map it looks like the well over the border was 34m and J-50 is prognosed to have the about the same.
JPR will not know how much net reservoir they have until after the log analyse of the wireline logs is done (a day or 2 after they run logs) but if they got about the gross column they expected then about the net pay expected is a reasonable outcome.
My read of all the technical releases is 'no surprises'
