"Coarse visible gold as shown in Figure 3 was panned over a 5m interval inBelgian workings. Visible gold was also identified within the laterite zone in DMRC004."
DMRC003 from a zone comprised mostly of black quartz veining in ferruginous saprolite between 12m
and 17m. A 1m cavity was intersected within the zone and is assumed to originate from historic
Presumably the cavity intersected within the 5m interval is where the colonial miners mined the highest grade ore so any result reported from this interval will be deficient in regard to the "true grade" of that interval.
With the vein also sitting high within the ferruginous saprolite zone (see figure 2 of the announcement) you could regularly also expect to see gold concentrated at the base of this zone so possibly multiple high grade intersects in the same hole and hopefully a well developed high grade supergene zone at the base of the saprolite across all 5 holes.
These shallow grades may not be representative of the fresh rock grades but they also say they have observed
• Strong silicification with pyrite mineralisation identified in bedrock• Drilling currently in quartz veined and sulphide-rich granite
The real value (outside of a possible starter pit situation) will be determined with the deeper drilling to determine how high grade the quartz veins are and the extent and grade of the gold mineralisation of the associated sulphides.
That's my 10 cents worth.
