To clarify (as a novice) the market closes @ 4.00pm and stocks go into:-

1. 4.00-4.10 is pre-open time where trades are matched up in the after mkt buy/sell auction. Orders in the sys can be changed up till <4.10.

2. After market auction buys/sells transact at 4.10 precisely.

3. 4.10 goes into adjust mode - this is where Brokers usually organise their respective buy/sell orders.

4. 4.00-5.00 - Special Portfolio or Overseas crossings "can" occur from time to time (this is usually for large buy/sell orders)
