I wrote here a few weeks ago that at the Australia Day ceremonies it was required to display THREE flags, the Australian flag, The Aboriginal flag and the Torres Strait Islander's flag. I wrote to the local member and asked why...aren't we one country and if you wish to live here and be naturalised you are then an "Australian? I said how are the >new Australians" to know which flag is Australian...who are the pledging to?
Well no answer short of...it is to be "inclusive". Huh? We pay billions of dollars in Aid to Aborigines and we also have to fly their flag?
To me so stupid, dumb and regressive and divisive...like you write Rex, this sort of stuff brings back the division we have been working to get rid of for decades.
