Pete222, in other posts I've commented that I've worked with people from all walks of life in many different rural communities throughout Victoria; clearly, that includes young Aborigines as well as their families!
Nor does my passion for the health, welfare, education, employment, culture, future and celebration of all that is Aboriginal prompt me to discriminate against others. My story is one of working in public schools and service organisations and regardless as to the personal backgrounds.
Tony Abbott has promised yet again to listen and to consult; that should include Andrew Forrest and Noel Pearson but also extend well beyond them to include people whose messages he neither understands nor likes. He'd do well to re-read the speech Pearson delivered at Gough Whitlam's memorial service; even if he needs someone to explain what it really means to him.
