This pretty well sums up last nights doco for those interested. Renewable energy and efficiency is such a multi faceted concept that it is very difficult to identify what is good and what is bad. Dick Smith had a go but as the author points out, he missed a fairly obvious point.
Each location can have it's own unique challenge. In some cases renewable and conventional power generation will need to coexist in order to achieve efficiency. In others several renewable technologies will need to combine where necessary. In some cases, one technology may be able to provide the lot. In all cases energy efficiency by users must be improved.
It will be interesting to see what partnerships evolve in the coming years, some may come from left field, surprising all of us.
Just a question but does anyone else on here consume 24 kwh per day like the family in the doco?
