ATV writes it from the bottom up. The atv R&d team has a very close relationship with AMD and so works closely with the techs that write the drivers for the AMD GPUs and encoder cards. ATV also receives early reference hardware for development from AMD and aligns closely to the AMD reference architecture. The core challenge in cloud gaming is to synchronise the production of frames by the GPU to the encoder card and out to the client side streaming software. ATV uses multiple multi-session GPU cards plus multiple encoder cards in each server and so our software has to synchronise them all to get max throughout and therefore max gamer revenue per dollar of capex spend.
