Ion exchange may have been used at Goro but, to the best of my knowledge, it was to process clarified liquors. RIP stands for resin in pulp, meaning resin is mixed with slurry and nickel and cobalt, which are in the solution phase of the slurry, are adsorbed onto the resin. The resin is then separated from the slurry and the nickel/cobalt stripped off the resin using sulphuric acid. RIP is an entirely different beast to solution IX. Chalk and cheese.
To the best of my knowledge Frank is not longer with SNC - he does not and never did work for CLQ.
