Formal construction period is 24 months assuming early works are done. If you look at the cashflow estimates, the cashflow is poised to be negative for the first 3 years. Project payback is 4.3 years excluding financing costs (likely to be longer).
This means if CLQ can get financing before the end of this year, they won't be producing until early 2021. They wont be cashflow positive (assuming all the commodity assumptions) until 2024. The financier won't get his money back until 2025-2026 at the earliest!
So what will be the battery tech in 2026?
This is all assuming everything goes smoothly. Zero cost blowouts, perfect commissioning, attractive financing and stable market conditions.
