Scorpion Therapeutics's Precision Oncology platform is a combination of many different approaches and it is actually one way small-molecule drugs can keep up with the innovation occurring in cell therapies and gene therapies. In small-molecule drug development, the problem isn't the lack of drugs, but the lack of known targets. By combining data analysis and AI computation with traditional drug development, the hope is to find targets in the body that better fit the drug which would then result to an increase in safety, duration, and efficacy. Principia Biopharma which was acquired by Sanofi for 3.68B (Their founding CMO is now the CEO of Actinogen Medical in the ASX), worked on the same principle of targeted small-molecule drugs through their platform which achieved durability, safety, and efficacy by focusing on selective binding of their drugs on known targets.
