on all chalk wells lateral so far drilled, the flaring has only occured in wells encountering fractures, and all have been directly correlated to natural fractured zones, this they found out once they wirelined and ran the mud logs back to compare. so in a sense your right, flaring is evident with when the well is drilling in regions of natural fractures.. flaring is an indication the formation is wanted to flow and under the extremely heavy mudweights these wells use, its very promising..

thats the most you can say really officialy.. you have to wireline it and see if the regions that are flaring are up to scratch..

but, there is history here, the wells which flare with heavy mud weights in them have all been positive in their outcomes, and this is imho very promising for TCEI in this completion. thers a lot of very good poepl involved in the drilling here, not just the crew, but engineers with extensive experience in the chalks have been consiluting also.. i am very optimistic right now.. these reports are far superior in every respect to kennedy nad very reminisant of the block a laterals imho..
