Having been involved professionally in agriculture for over 50 years I can say that drilling holes does not create nor spread weeds. Also having been invilved with horse properties for a similar period my experience is that the greatest problem in spreading weeds are horses. The horse is very selective in what they will eat in a pasture. They eat out the preferred species and allow the weeds like fleabane, cape weed, onion grass and others to prevail.
The statement made by the "expert" is a disgrase; it only shows that 'ignorance is a voluntary misfortune'.
