"Markets" simply don't like uncertainty. THAT is the only thing holding this from trading much higher. The uncertainties are simply, will they finalize the deal and if so, how it is funded. As you say, there are numerous variables to the method of funding and clearly the several dilution alternatives will be weighing on the minds of the larger investor, who, from recent trading still appear not to have got on board despite the 50% rise in the last week.
E.G. Of yesterdays 216 trades on Commsec, 146 were at 10,000 shares or less.
That "block" that came on at 1.54 certainly "did its job". There were 119 trades from opening to that time raising the price from 27.5 to 32.5. After that "block" appeared things slowed down significantly, with just 48 trades in the next near 2 hours seeing the S.P. drop from that 32.5 to as low as .29 and nearly all sellers being on the very small end. But immediately that block was wiped at 3.45 another 49 trades took place to the close with the S.P. again jumping to 32.5.
This is still clearly a "retail" traders market, with some small genuine investors included, and will be volatile until that uncertainty is removed re Track.
Again, fun and games for all types of players, but, IMO, will settle down into a very serious LT investment with very serious money coming in once all that uncertainty is cleared.
Meanwhile, sit back, crack a stubby and watch the play which will very likely be quite varied depending on which "game" you are playing, ST trader, or, genuine investor. The latter should not begrudge quite a bit of profit taking during the uncertainty period, but, volume is great for all .
