Yes the cfmeu absolutely push the legal boundaries when trying to look after their members for damn good reasons. The big contractors rip off the sub contract guys so how do you think they treat there employees. Two Irish guys killed on a Perth site when a concrete slab that was being lifted off a truck fell on them while having their break. The cfmeu had been denied access on site to address saftey concerns. Unfortunately they have to be the saftey police because some companies don't do the right thing. If you want your son or daughter to work on sites with little regard for saftey in one of the most dangerous occupations arround then that's fine by me but I don't want that for my kids.some of these shonky empoyers deserve a good rough up as far as I know none of them have been put in hospital as a result let alone killed like some employees.
