You and Solly Lew must me the only two that think Fletcher is doing a bad job at CLM. As for an external directorship, it is quite common for a CEO to have an external directorship as it helps keep their finger on the wider pulse and prevents them from becoming insular.
Don't forget Solly has a finger in many pies and only a few months ago wanted to run an airline as well.
