Also, Lew was one of the figures behind the drive to merge Meyer/Grace Bros into GL Coles in the 80's. Now the albatross around CML's neck is the department stores. As well as this, Lew has been on the board for something like 20 years, so his claim that CML needs him and his expertise is way off. Fletcher has been there for a year or so, and has formed a plan that has the backing of shareholders and staff.
I feel that Lew's had his chances, and blown them, and should clear out and let Fletcher run it.
