There is no good reason for BHP not to sink a few bucks into this. They would be seriously negligent towards their own shareholders by not exploring this great resource and risking massively higher power costs and water shortages. Its true that there are technical challlenges to be overcome but also great opportunites. RIO has taken a conservative line, trying to protect their existing interests with "clean" coal projects. Lets hope BHP can rise to the challenge, and not just waste time playing politics, fishing for subsidies etc.
I am guessing most hc members are BHP holders at least in an indirect sense through a super fund or something. Give them a call and hassle them about it lol.
