Mary Kathleen simply ran out of ore. Have walked around it a couple of times-there wasn't anything obvious left in the pitwalls, and the bottom was a funny coloured swimming pool. (It was hot temperature wise but no-one wanted to swim!!!).

CRA gave the district a pretty thorough going over according to the geos from that period. A few small pods left behind and thats about all.

Also a tricky area as it is no longer readily accessible (cranky cocky) and the Kalkadoons are not the easiest to deal with.
