Here's my take on what's going on
- T-cells are like the body's hit squad to take on invaders like cancer cells
- Unfortunately cancer cells can take advantage of the T-cells natural tendency to maintain a sort of equilibrium - much like the body's mechanism to maintain it's temperature. This decreases the effectiveness of the T-cells in fighting cancer cells.
- Along comes the support brigade in the form of LAG-3 to provide training to the T-cells to suspend their natural tendencies in order to attack the cancer cells more effectively.
