I've always felt that there is a strong opportunity in this still immature and 'green' industry for companies to offer a range of consulting services. Rather than just tendering to provide bioplastic products, I believe there is plenty more value in offering end-to-end solutions that also include hand-holding and environmental planning services.
Niche consulting could become a very lucrative arm and it allows the company to recommend and provide solutions rather than just products and many of the components of these solutions do not even need to be products that are developed by Cardia.
Cardia certainly understands the industry they are in - most of the prospective customers (be they government or commercial) often do not have the same degree of experience.
