ALL is relevant in so far as it demonstrates that good buying opportunities can arise when the market is spooked by events that have the potential to end companies, even when the possibility of such is remote.
There are also examples of these situations that have gone and tanked completely and holders have lost all.
The bottom line is you won't see great bargains without some seriously bad sentiment around the company, the market doesn't allow that. Those that can see through the BS come out on top.
Imagine what kind of discussions were going on when ALL and AMP were hitting the skids, the same doomsday proficies would have been flying around, if they weren't then the stocks wouldn't have traded so low.
