thanks for prompting investors to think about the realistic effect of the shareholder letter with your excellent "hoo-haa" comment the other day (below).

as for today's response to the release of the shareholder letter?

...........in the last 15 minutes of trade (ie. the letter was released at 3.45pm) around 3 million shares were dumped into the 24.5c bid line.

this appears to be consistent with share price price behaviour each time there is news on centro, indicating investor sentiment on cnp remains strained and tippy-toe cautious

as for the timetable for and content of genuine announcements of substance, and on which the share price may finally get traction - looking forward to balanced HC discussion on this in coming weeks.

    cheers.

Yes P2 thanks for quoting me, and that's my exact point. Some here are lauding their own work saying that Centro will provide an update due to CNPs sudden realisation that the Hotcopper hordes are not happy.

My point is, if they do announce, of what importance will the information provide, considering they will in effect be announcing just for the sake of announcing to appease the holders.

Exactly right, you can't manufacture something out of nothing and my personal belief is a forced announcement would only disappoint holders.
hey ease up its just an opinion......

many of these posters style themselves as longer term traders and may have a different focus, but shorter term traders perhaps need to look objectively at the record of this stock and at least ask themselves the more important question ie:

.........."what difference will a shareholder letter make anyway?"

"Either way, an update on asset sales, recapitalisation and all of the other outstanding items is going to be well received by the market and hopefully the SP will follow suit"

    REALLY????

1 - the share price has dropped quickly after recent announcements
2 - why will it not drop like a stone again after any "sop" (see below) shareholder letter
3 - many feel that until there is conclusive substantive news reportable and formally announced under centro's legal disclosure duty, we won't see sustainable price action
4 - any big build up over the investor letter might be unhelpful if all it achieves is ANOTHER PUMP AND DUMP reaction by battered cnp punters, that retests the share price lows, and that retests punter disess levels.

    THE SHAREHOLDER LETTER A "SOP"?

centro will be well aware of (...if not hyper-sensitive to) its legal duty of disclosure, one would expect that if the shareholder letter was to include material matters of concluded substance (....rather than aspirational shareholder relations pap), then it would be in the form of an announcement in accordance with the disclosure duty, and not in the form of a letter.

could the investor letter say anything that has not already been factored into the shareprice?

how is the proposed letter anything but a "sop" to pacify disgruntled centro shareholders who are needing to let off steam?

will the "buy and hold" money await a formal anouncement?

"I can't believe all the hoo-haa over an investor update. Do you really think its going to make a difference. Is the investor update a white knight that allows the shareprice rise to the sky?

Centro will announce something sooner or later, between the lines nothing will be said, and CNP will be exactly where its been since January, with investors none the wiser as to Centro's future.

If Centro have nothing to upate it means just that, there's nothing to announce. Can't manufacture something out of nothing."
