the important difference between AFG and CNP is that Centro has a very valuable, performing services business. That would be destroyed if Centro was to be put into administration.
This is probably why the banks are preferrring to negotiate a debt for equty swap and/or a longer term extension that will hopefully conincide with a recovery in the property market.
