    Hi kevjb

As much as I can agree with your sentiments ... firing off a raspberry will do no good at all.

I spent a few years associated with an NGO and we contacted Govt frequently [advocating for the poor]. You start by contacting them and getting the latest update on their progress and timeline. Next, if you intend to do this right, you make an appointment to see the relevant Minister [official] and make a personal connection. Following on from that you personally visit some local MP's and try to find an ally who understands the issue and will champion your case. After all of that you seldom get what you want.

In this case, contacting the relevant Co's and seeing what they are doing is probably the best start.

From the Qld Govt's perspective UCG is very small cheese. It concerns only a handful of Co's, at best. Also they are in dispute with one of them ATM. There is no incentive for them to think urgently about UCG.

Bottom line common sense and politics are 2 very different things.

On the upside ... giving them a blast will not hurt either IMO. :)
