" QuantumScape’s battery cell is about the size and thickness of a playing card. Its cathode, or positive terminal, is made of nickel manganese cobalt oxide, or NMC, a common chemistry in EV batteries today."

Regarding the Toyota solid-state chemistry, we probably won't have to wait too long.
"QuantumScape and VW aren’t the only companies in the solid-state battery game, of course. Toyota is also developing a solid-state cell, which company officials planned to unveil at the Tokyo Olympics this year before it was postponed due to the pandemic."
