Most common uses of CO2
Refrigeration and freezing in food processing and production
Shield gas in welding applications to prevent weld oxidation
pH balance in water treatment plants
Fire suppression systems
Plant growth stimulation in greenhouses
Enhanced oil recovery of oil and gas wells
What’s showing to be a continued increase demand is the Plant growth stimulation, where in Australia more and more growers are reverting to High Tech greenhouses. This type of growing structure needs liquid CO2 supply as they are sealed structures so can not utilise the CO2 in ambient air.
From memory a 10ha green house will require 3000tonnes CO2 per Annum. In winter they may use a by product from their heating systems (from burning of gas) however in summer they use liquid CO2, same grade that VEN have. Summer is the most active time for photosynthesis so more CO2 is required.
High tech green houses are increasing pretty much on a monthly bases in Aus and will continue at a fairly fast pace. We hope VEN can bring their supply to market soon to keep up with this growing demand.
