    I suggest you have a look at what I was replying to - a snow record, which will have similar longevity to the records I posted on.

    And I suggest you consider the point I made, that posting these isolated records is futile.

    It's the overall stats and trends that are material. I am laughing at jopo, and posting in opposition, because jopo frequently tells us that single records mean nothing, whenever someone posts on record heat or drought. But then can't resist posting on every second heavy snowfall himself.

    We expect to see more frequent hot records than cold, and that is the case by 2 or 3 to one. Similarly on incidence of heavy rainfall. The trend is clear on those. Snowfall, hurricanes etc somewhat less clarity.
