Not sure about the methanol side of things but I do know that as sales gas the CO2 has to be pulled out as it is very corrosive. That means that you have to build a CO2 removal plant ( expensive ) and , at the moment , vent it to the atmosphere although the days of venting will soon be over. Then you would have to sequester the CO2 which still isn't a completely proven method yet . Of course , whatever method adds cost. If anyone has a bit of info on using CO2 in the production of methanol , could you post it or a reference to it please ? Thanks in advance . acorn.
