    Sixteen groups from across
    1. the political
    2. and social spectrum
have joined together to issue a statement urging timely action to tackle "unsustainably high power prices and

rising emissions", which they warn are "threatening our society, environment and economy"

The call from the 16 groups,

    1. which includes the ACTU,
    2. the Australian Industry Group
    3. and the Clean Energy Council,
comes as the head of the agency, which recommended the NEG, criticised the politicisation of energy policy.
