Sixteen groups from across
- the political
- and social spectrum
have joined together to issue a statement urging timely action to tackle
"unsustainably high power prices and
rising emissions", which they warn are "threatening our society, environment and economy"
The call from the 16 groups,
- which includes the ACTU,
- the Australian Industry Group
- and the Clean Energy Council,
comes as the head of the agency, which recommended the NEG, criticised the politicisation of energy policy.
