Subsidies for renewables are being substantially reduced as they should be for an emerging technology . Renewable energy costs have plummeted as expected and are now passing fossil on the way to getting cheaper with the bonus of seriously reducing emissions .
The coal generation industry has been around for getting close to one hundred years and there are thousands of plants operating around the world . It is a mature industry .
Why would it need any subsidy ?
And then there's the flippant comment of nuclear power . Too expensive , nasty legacy , long build time etc . It's over .
