In addition to dredging at the port it's interesting to note (for the longer term) approval has been granted to extend reclamation at Te Awaparahi Bay (LPC Coal depot) to a further 4.75 hectares from the existing coal yard. Plans are also underway to increase the reclaimed area to 34 hectares (some of which is for container traffic). Incidentally the holes drilled at escarpment to better define coal quality in June and July have apparently yielded a positive result. Cheers.
