Such people are focussed on self, incapable of empathising, wallow in denial, cling to those of like mindedness, mount barriers to shield themselves from reality checks and drown themselves in cognitive dissonance.

We've seen this recently with the SSM survey; emphatic and overwhelming support from mainstream Australians simply hasn't registered with the likes of Cory Bernadi, Tony Abbott, Peter Dutton, George Chistenson and Eric Abetz - people whose 'receptivity to feedback' [Johari Window index] is close to zero, zilch, zippo!

Such people are big on 'religious freedom', socialised coal and lax regulation of large corporations but boy oh boy you'd better watch out of you're an asylum seeker, unemployed, sick or elderly.
