Great to see India Coal Limited onsite down at Leigh Creek, by the looks of it, I'm sure the General Manager - Cristian Bolda would have impressed.
Unlike the Albanese government who are pulled to the left by the greens https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-12-06/fracking-projects-beetaloo-federal-government-water-trigger/103196626, when you're feeding and providing energy to 1.5 billion, there isn't time to smoke joints and weave baskets, I think you'll find the Indians have a more pragmatic approach.

Underground Coal Gasification(UCG) is a process in which coal is converted into gas ‘in-situ’ through a physico-chemical process and the resultant syn-gas can be used as a fuel or chemical feed stock in the manufacture of Methanol/Fertilizer.
The produced syn-gas is a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, carbon dioxide and higher hydrocarbons.
UCG offers a potential economic means of extracting energy from deep seated coal/lignite deposits which are not amenable to conventional physical extraction economically.
