"We need to find positive uses for coal or leave it where it is".
That is the closest we have ever come to agreeing.
Metallurgical coal is still required.
The sooner we stop burning that Victorian brown rubbish the better.
BUT, as I have said, the transition to other forms of energy simply has to be economically and socially viable.
We have a way to go; nuclear, wind, solar, batteries, +?? in whatever combination that works, a combination that will change over time.
Who knows, "cleaner" coal might work so keep researching during the transition.
