Not only does Sanjeev Gupta intend to use renewable energy because it's the cheaper commercial option, he is also planning to use it to power one of the largest steel works in the world. I have no problem with the carbon in coal being used to produce steel from iron, it's a good source of carbon. I'm hoping it can also be used to enrich poor soils.
We need to find positive uses for coal or leave it where it is, as the old 'burn it' age becomes part of history.

And thats coming from someone with their head stuck so firmly in their own date they will never ever see the sun shine again.
