Bob, I'm going to share a little secret here about how money is made in the stock market. It's so simple but yet so many people fail to follow it:

Find the best value stock in a hot sector, whose share price is moving up. Then buy.

The criteria is pretty straightforward but can save you a lot of heartache and waiting for the stock you hold to become the best value.

It's worked for me and many others who I know.
