Bassyabbie: Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't farmers been pouring and spraying fertilizers, weed killers and chemicals on these lands for many, many years.
Don't these chemicals end up in the local dams and river systems? Just look at the Great Barrier Reef, it's being destroyed by runoff from farming.
Would I take my family out there to live? NO I don't like those areas because I'm a sun, surf & sand lover. But here where I live we have to put up with chemical runoff from farmland and I'm not moving.
