Thats LNP Privatisation policy for you. Works just fine for the the big companies to take advantage of a Govt.... Costs the Govt massive lost revenue.
All for an ideology that says Govt can't run a business even when its Govt own resources.
IMNO the big problem with Govts running businesses that showed up in the 60/70s was the lack of business acumen of the people appointed to manage, for eg., the electricity generators etc.
Times have changed and these days politicians are more concerned with making profits than just providing a service to the community. Qld and WA energy have shown that Govt can run such on a business footing making significant revenues for the Govt and providing a competitive service delivery to customers/community.
