After the GFC the $Aud sailed as high as US$1:10. Australia's economy was the envy of the developed world as we all but dodged the worst impacts of the GFC due to the expert management of our economy by Kevin Rudd, Wayne Swan and Julia Gillard.
Not any more!
After six years of Coalition governance the $Aud is now trading below US$0.70 [ie. we're worth 40% less than we were in mid 2013] .
Australia's macroeconomic KPIs collectively have hardly ever been weaker - that's what six years of Scott Morrison has delivered.
In short, we're stuffed and we just elected a government that has no idea about how to address any of the issues tearing Australia apart. Indeed, after feeding greed for six years to produce our remarkable economic decline Morrison's answer is feed greed harder.
